Wind River Cellars

Today was to be the last event of the year here at Wind River Cellars. It was not to be, as I awoke to 6 inches. It's not often that I wake up to six inches. Kris and I were both quite suprised. Anytime we wake up and see six inches we know we have to just make the best of it and try to get things done anyway. Last week we awoke and saw twelve inches. All we could do was stare.

Unfortunately, this six inches cancelled the big port celebration we were suppose to have today. We figured that people would be too afraid of the six inches to want to drive up the hill. It started raining about an hour ago and the six inches started to get soft. It's more like four inches now and I don't forsee that increasing anytime soon.

One nice couple who was staying at the B & B at the bottom of the hill didn't seem to mind the six inches. They walked up to the winery and thought that the six inches was beautiful. I have to agree. Though it's hard to get things done with six inches, it sure is pretty to look at.

Wednesday we are off to Mexico for the 9th annual "Wind River Cellars Holiday in Mexico". I'm looking forward to the warm beaches. Most of the locals in Mazatlan have never seen six inches. I'm guessing that they wouldn't know what to do.

If you would like to take advantage of our free shipping before the end of the year, you must do it before Tuesday. You can call or email us. Though our UPS driver is also afraid of the six inches, we'll make sure your order will arrive by Christmas.

You haven't heard me talk about Hooba's too much lately. That's because when I first began talking about it, it was suppose to open around Labor Day. Well, we've just received word that Hooba's will be opening for New Year's Eve. We will be back from Mexico just in time to bring in the new year at Husum's newest fun dining hotspot. It will be a blast. If you would like more info on this event you can call Hooba himself at 509.493.4440. Hooba isn't intimidated by six inches. I think he could even get things done with eight inches. He can't drive his car very well with six inches so Kris has been nice enough to help him. He says that he can't get any traction with six inches, but I just think it's an excuse so he doesn't have to deal with the six inches by himself.

You make me homesick already, Husum!
