Happy Holidays everyone. Thanksgiving is behind us and now we can focus on the most wonderful time of the year, Wind River Cellars Holiday in Mexico!

It was nice to see all of your familiar mugs over the Thanksgiving weekend. Our annual Thanksgiving weekend open house was festive as usual and it was nice to see how enthusiastic everyone was for not only our new releases, but also our futures of '06 Pinot Noir, '06 Cab Franc, and '06 Tempranillo. It sounds as though more and more people from Portland and Vantucky are discovering the wineries of the gorge. Like I've said before, we have dozens of wine varieties besides Pinot Noir, low traffic congestion and lots more to do besides taste wine.

For Thanksgiving I went tricker treating, or at least that's what my friend Mike called it. Myself, the family and a few close friends piled in a few cars and went out to Syncline Cellars to celebrate Thanksgiving in the same traditional way as the pilgrims did, Playing frisbee golf and drinking beer. Owners James and Poppie have a great winery and they were great hosts. After sharing our cheer at Syncline we went to Cor Cellars where Luke and his family served up another beverage brought over on the Mayflower, the Bloody Mary. This was the first year that I can remember that we didn't have a shindig here at Wind River Cellars for Thanksgiving day. The day was capped off with a great community turkey dinner at Hooba's. (Check out Hooba's at http://killerburgers.com)

If you are going to order wine for the holidays you must do it before December 10th. I believe Kris has a free shipping special going on but that won't do you much good when I'm squeezing lime into my cerveza on the beach.

This coming weekend I will be pouring wine and signing bottles in Puyallup at Corkscrew Cellars. If you're in the area stop by and say hello. If you're planning on coming out to the gorge, Kris will be hosting a Port Celebration. Our website has the details but I will tell you that if you purchase a case of our award winning Port of Celilo, it will come in 750 ml bottles instead of 375 ml bottles. For those of you who are more mathematically challenged than I am, that means that you get 2 for 1, or 1 free with the purchase of 1, or twice as much as you pay for. Kind of like Happy Hour in Mexico. If you order 1 margarita, they bring you 2.

Your Happy Hour never ends, Husum!
